On April 12, the donation ceremony of Xiaomi to Tsinghua University was held in Beijing Xiaomi Technology Park. Lei Jun, the founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, representatives of Xiaomi Tsinghua alumni, and Qiu Yong, president of Tsinghua University attended the donation ceremony. Qiu Yong believes that Tsinghua should consider the important responsibilities and development trends of the university, so as to better embark on a new journey. At the signing ceremony of the donation agreement, Wei Lai, Secretary-General of Xiaomi Foundation and Yuan Wei, Secretary-General of Tsinghua University Education Foundation, signed the donation agreement on behalf of both parties. As Tsinghua's 110th anniversary celebration is approaching, Tsinghua alumni who work at Xiaomi also voluntarily donated 110 86-inch large-screen TVs and collectively gave their alma mater a birthday gift. In 2020, the Xiaomi Charity Foundation set up scholarships and bursaries for the first time in colleges and universities, and selected Tsinghua University as one of the first batch of beneficiary colleges to support students with excellent academic performance and financial difficulties.
