HomePod mini sells globally, Apple's smart speaker market share doubles

According to the latest data from Strategy Analytics, Apple's smart speaker shipments in the third quarter of 2021 are estimated to be 4 million units, accounting for 10.2% of the market. This is almost twice Apple's 5.9% market share in the third quarter of 2020. Amazon ranks first in the smart speaker market with a share of 26.4%, while Google ranks third with a share of 20.5%. Baidu and Alibaba ranked third and fourth respectively, and Apple ranked fifth in the global rankings. HomePod mini is one of the best-selling smart speakers in the third quarter of 2021. Strategy Analytics said it ranks second after Google Nest Mini and ahead of the fourth-generation Amazon Echo Dot. After the colorful HomePod mini launched in early 2021, its share increased by 92% year-on-year. Unlike its smart home competitors, Apple has only one smart speaker product-and no product with a screen. This may change in the future. There are rumors that Apple is developing an Apple TV device with a built-in camera and HomePod speaker, which is called a 15-inch large iPad.
